Spring Term 2026

Attendance of each KMO/AICB student is mandatory without any exceptions for oral presentations on April 29 and May 6, 2026, and for the written exam on May 13, 2026.

Before the written exam each student must register for the AICB exam in Portal at portal.zcu.cz several days in advance.

Each student must upload final documents of the seminar work to Google Classroom within the deadline.

Lesson 3 on March 9, 2022 - instructions

Due to the teacher´s illness, the KMO/AICB lesson 3 will not take place face-to-face on March 9, 2022 and it will be replaced by self-studying and online consultation with the teacher via Google Meet if necessary.

The AICB lesson 3 with my oral comments to every slide is available for you here in Lectures and in Google Classroom. To get a point for lesson 3, you have to upload the completely filled worksheet 3 to Google Classroom by Monday, March 14, 9:00 AM (in the morning).

Classes at UWB cancelled from 11th March - tasks for AICB students

Dear students,

AICB lessons have been cancelled similarly as all classes at Czech Universities due to SARS CoV 2 - COVID 19 pandemia since 11th March, 2020. The rest of the Spring semester will continue in a self-learning mode through online communication with the teacher and with your colleagues.

To get points for your active studying, please fill every Wednesday the AICB worksheet for corresponding AICB lesson after reading the PDF presentation here in Courseware. I will add for you the presentations every week according to the program of AICB course. Please send me your handwritten filled worksheets in form of a scan or a picture every Friday till 12:00 by e-mail to: sucharom@rek.zcu.cz . This way, you can get one point for your activity for every lesson. If you send me the worksheet later, you can get only half of the point and it might influence your final mark.

You can find there all deadlines for the seminar work. The presentations of the questionnaire and of comparison of countries on intercultural communication in business will take place as we planned at the beginning of this semester. Presentation of the questionnaire will take place joining Microsoft Team on May 6 at 3:00 PM of central European time, presentation of comparison of countries on May 13 at 3:00 PM and the written exam by e-mail on May 20 at 3:00 - 3:40 PM.

Spring Term 2019 - changes in timetable on April 16th, 2019

In Spring Term 2019, there is a change in UWB academic calendar the week before Easter: on Tuesday 16th of April will be the timetable of Wednesday.

The KMO/AICB class will take place the week before Easter on Tuesday 16th of April and on Wednesday 17th of April.

Comparison of 3 countries - deadline till December 2, 11:00 AM

The deadline for sending to the teacher documents for the final presentation of the seminar work on comparison of 3 cultures is till December 2nd, 11:00 AM:

- PPT presentation "Cooperating in the global marketplace" - comparison of 3 cultures based on main topics of the course Intercultural Communication for Business and

- your article for a scientific review with a text on Cooperating in the global marketplace - comparison of 3 countries (the article must include the title, names of members of your team, introduction, main foundings on comparison of 3 cultures, conclusion and bibliography).

Seminar Work - deadline for the questionnaire

The deadline to send to the teacher the questionnaire for your research with international students about behavior of employees and clients in services in Czech Republic and in the home country of international students is till November 15th, 12:00.

Please send to the teacher the electronic form of the questionnaire with 6 - 7 questions about Czech Republic and the same questions about the home country of the group of international students with 4 - 5 multiple choice answers. Once the final version of the questionnaire is approved by the teacher, you will send it in Google form to 10 international students of the cultural group which has been selected for your groupr.

Every group will present the results of this research in form of graphs in KMO/AICB class on December 2nd, 2019.

In spring term 2019 oral presentations will take place on April 24th and on May 15th.

The written exam takes place during the last lesson, on May 22nd, 2019 in UL408. Please register for the exam in Portal latest on May 20th, 2019.

Seminar Work - case study and analysis of your research on services

The deadline to send to the teacher the case study about intercultural communication in business related to one of the countries your group will compare at the end of this semester is till April 17th, 11AM. Please send to the teacher one case study for your group that you find yourself either in our textbooks or on the internet. The original case study must be in English, the length of the text 2 pages as maximum. Add 3 or 4 questions related to the text of the case study and the source of the document - the citation of the source must correspond to the rules of a citation guide.

The same deadline, April 17th 11AM is for sending to the teacher a PPT presentation with the results of your research on services - results of the questionnaire. Structure of the PPT presentation: an introductory slide with the topic of your research, members of the team, etc., at the following slides the question with 2 graphs about the country you have selected for the research and about the Czech Republic and a final slide with the conclusion of the research.

Written documents for the presentation have to be sent to the teacher 7 days before the presentation by email (sucharom@rek.zcu.cz).

For winter term 2017-18 the deadline is November 27, 2017 till 12:00.

1. PPT presentation - a comparison of 3 countries you have selected within your group; most of the main topics from AICB lessons 1 - 8 must be included

2. Your presentation in form of an article in a Word document (2 pages)

3. Case study on intercultural communication in business about one of the countries you have selected within your group including your questions related to the case study.

Oral presentations and discussion about the case studies take place on December 4, 2017 during lesson 10.
