Course annotation
KFL/1ALC

The aim of the course is to equip students with essential knowledge of the literary, cultural and historic development of Anglo-American countries. In the literary segment of the module, developmental trends and the characteristic elements of English and American prose, poetry and drama will be chronologically analyzed in regards to the specific cultural, social and historic events that significantly influenced English and American literature. Key authors of specific literary periods will also be presented. In the segment devoted to English history and culture, the students will become acquainted with the development of key institutions - the monarchy, parliament, the Anglican Church, the British Empire, and so forth. The module is taught in English. |
