The aim of the course is to introduce, familiarize and explore the concept of comparative constitutional law, the concept of constitution and democracy, especially regarding the area of Central Europe, where the main subject of interest will be the constitutional systems of the countries in this region. The course is conceived as an introduction to the field of constitutional comparatists and will therefore deal mainly with the theoretical issues of comparing constitutional systems, especially the theoretical foundations of constitutional law doctrines and the methodology of analysis.
The course is taught interactively, and students will be required to prepare presentations on assigned topics, both in groups and individually.
