The course aims to present the problems of integration processes in Europe, as well as abroad. In the first part, the course will focus on the theoretical issues related to the notion of integration, i. e. the difference between cooperation and integration, the various levels of integration and their representations in international politics, and integration as a research topic for theory of international relations (functionalism, neofunctionalism, multilevel governance, institutionalism). The second part of the course will present specific integration formations (e. g. EU, Organization of American States, NAFTA, Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation), their development and functions.
