| The course gives an overview of the development of Islamic thought since the 19th century, with the main emphasis on the trends of the 20th and 21st centuries. The particular emphasis will be taken on the past two decades, as students should orientate especially in the current and immediate past events in the region. Lectures are focused on the role of various religious forms and streams in daily life of society or community, and also in formulating the ideologies or political agendas. |
