The course is based on the basic knowledge of particular language levels and aims at their further improvement. The goal of the course is to widen the knowledge of the specialist linguistic terminology with special reference to selected areas of English lexicology. The attention is also devoted to fundamental rules of word-formation and also idiomatic expressions and phraseological units. The knowledge of semantic relations among lexical units and the skills to classify lexical units from the stylistic point of view will be further developed. Special attention is paid to the lexical differences between British and American English. The theoretical knowledge of idiomatic expressions and phraseological units will be interconnected the practical language use in real business-like communicative situations.
