The goal of this course is to introduce its participants to the basics of anthropological study of contemporary complex societies. The course will also contain an introduction to the issues of nationalism, ethnicity and multiculturalism. Attention will be also paid to the topic of social exclusionm migration, human rights, research of rural, local and urban (sub)cultures as well as to the question of contemporary ethno-revival, religious and identitarian movements. The explanation will cover the relevant theories, selected examples, relevant publications and the most important researchers in this particular field.
