Course objectives:
|
To acquaint students with problems of the existence of one of the criminal regimes of the 20th century, its origin, development and breakdown. Notify the biggest crimes against humanity, which the members and supporters of socialist and communist parties committed and perpetrated.

Requirements on student
|
Active participation in lectures and seminars. High quality preparation and presentation of assignment. The course is finished by the credit test.

Knowledge - students are expected to possess the following knowledge before the course commences to finish it successfully: |
Basic orientation in the late 19th and 20 century issues of history- namely social, racial and ethnic conflicts.

Knowledge - knowledge resulting from the course: |
After passing these courses student can incorporate origin of Marxism in the historical and philosophical context. Recognizes the different stages of formation and development of communist dictatorship to its collapse. Compares the common features of National Socialism and communism, not only in terms of a terrorist dictatorship of one party, but also in economy and culture. Evaluate the features of Communist terror and crimes of socialism and communism. Compare and identify differences and common core of Soviet, European and Asian ?model? of communism. Guess the motivation of the various sections of the population, especially leading leftist intellectuals to support leftist criminal regimes. |
