Course objectives:
|
To provide students with the ability to be oriented in the system of particular language levels in Czech through the linguistic analysis of the text.
|
Requirements on student
|
Three successful dictations and tests during the semester and one final dictation and credit test.
|
Content
|
Complete analysis of the texts belonging to various styles and communication areas. Language levels in the language system and their relationships. Basic syntactic analysis, identification of the parts of speech according to the context, identification of the word forms and their grammatical nominal and verb categories, word formation analysis and morphemic analysis. International terminology in linguistics and its practical application. Dictations and linguistic tests.

describe the problems of word classes and word-classes conversion

define the difference between the simple sentence and compound/complex sentence

differ the sentence elements and types of subordinate clauses and relations between main clauses

explain the more difficult phenomena of Czech orthography (writing loanwords etc.)

analyse a text comprehensively regarding morphology, syntax, lexicology, semantics and with respect to communicative situation
