Course objectives:
|
The course introduces the issues of the purpose of construction, typology, functions and historical transformations of objects within the individual kinds of buildings (e.g. a village house, a town house, church buildings, manors for the nobility, buildings for economic and production purposes, etc.) and, via an overview, introduces the historical development of urbanism. The content of the individual spheres is selected with respect to materials available in the Czech Republic. A professional excursion is also part of the course, through which students confront the knowledge they acquired in theory with a particular historical building they come into contact with.
