Course objectives:

The aim of the course is to provide an overview for students about development in material culture of prehistoric and ancient Middle East from the beginning of the human settlement till the formation of first state and write using civilizations. Students gain knowledge about prehistoric development of the region and will have idea about the foundation on which the oldest historical civilizations of the region have created its own form.

- to identify various states of ancient Mezopotamia
- to identify relevant academic literature
- to characterize cultures of ancient Middle East
- to identify various ancient religious systems |
