Course objectives:
|
This course will shows Judaism not like a complex of doctrines or like a historical phenomenon, ale like a living culture in its various forms. Everyday practise of Judaism with its cultural phenomens will be introduced to students. These phenomens are changing in time and in present time the radical reinterpretation is in progress. This changes will be studied by students not only teoretically, but also in real life as a fieldwork.

Requirements on student
|
Students must be able to work by their own not just with written resources, but also in fieldwork and they have to bring new informations and knowledge. They should be also able to present them in form of presentations/multimedial presentations. Judaism is not taken just as religion, but as a life style and identity.
This course ends by combined exam. To enter oral exam student must meet conditions of presentation of chosen theme.

2. Questions of integration, asimilation and preservation of integrity.
3. Judaism and jewish identity in literature.
4. Judaism and jewish identity in reflections of Shoa.
5. Jewish identity in works of chosen authors - B. Malamut, I.B. Singer, M. Buber, J. Langer.
6. Jewish identity in works of chosen authors - S. Freud, F. Kafka, O. Pavel.
7. Jewish identity in works of chosen authors - J. Orten, A. Lustig etc.
8. Overcoming of the hate, coexistence in otherness.
9. Changes of ritual in reaction on present appels.
10. Life of czech jewish communities.
11. Life of jewish communities in the world and especially in Isreal.
12. Family as a centre of sacrament.
13. Attempts of revitalization of jewish identity and spirituality after Shoa.

After this course student will know Judaism in its practical manifestations as an antropological phenomen. He can orient himself not just in religious rules, but also in their aplications on everyday life and he can recognize them in cultural manifestations, especially in literature and art in czech context. |
