Course objectives:

The aim of this course is to familiarize students with possibilities of the use of information technologies in the field of chemistry and gain knowledge allowing them to search for chemical information.

Information and Informatics. Basic principles and functions of sharing expertise and scientific information. Professional and scientific communication.
3rd seminar + 4th seminar
Primary and secondary information. Information processing, abstract service, selection of the encyclopedic, tabulated and handbook resources.
5th seminar + 6th seminar
Modern information technology. Text document and its computer form. Storage and retrieval information by using computer technology. Organization database services.
7th seminar + 8th seminar
Chemical compound, its structure and systematic classification. The structure of information resources in chemistry. Beilsteins Handbuch der organischen Chemie.
