Course objectives:
|
The subject is conceived as theoretical and practical. The subject provides comprehensive information about physiological and adaptation processes in the neonatal body after delivery. It also deals with the principles of first examination and treatment of the newborn after delivery, comprehensive nursing care for the physiological newborn, and parental care about newborn care.

80% attendance, activity in hours demonstration of skills on models, oral exam.

Content
|
Syllabus of lectures: Physiological newborn. Adaptation processes and physical changes in the newborn after birth. The first examination of the newborn. The first treatment of the newborn after birth. Nursing care for physiological newborn. Breastfeeding - meaning the composition of breast milk, breastfeeding technique, handling breast milk. The needs of the newborn. Support for early contact between the mother and the newborn. Skin Care newborn. Daily routine newborn.
Exercises outline: Training of the first neonatal examination. Practicing first treatment of the newborn after birth. Nursing process in physiological newborn. Practicing manipulation of the fetus. Practicing the art of breastfeeding. Giving baths newborn. Giving care of your skin and umbilical stump. Educational activities of midwives in the care for physiological newborn.
