Course objectives:
|
This course is conducted in French and is intended for those students who are interested in the basic developmental trends in French literature during the 19th and 20th centuries, e.g. romanticism, realism, naturalism, symbolism, existentiolism, new novel, modernism, post-modernism and modern trends in poetry, etc. Through analyses of selected literary texts students will get a profound comprehension of the mutual interconnections and their importance as works of classic literature of the 19th and 20th centuries, including Hugo, Balzac, Stendhal, Flaubert, Zola, Maupassant, Baudelaire, Verlaine, Rimbaud, France, Rolland, Proust, Giono, Sartre, Camus, Prévert, Beckett, Ionesco, Yourcenar, Céline, Modiano and Tournier.
