Course objectives:
|
The aim of the course is to provide students with the knowledge and practical skills necessary for work in the field of sculpture. Students will learn the rules of basic technical and technological procedures in designing and realizing a small or simple sculpture. They will develop their skills in researching a given topic, critically assessing the proposed options, selecting the most suitable final solution and defending it before the wider and professional public according to the artistic aesthetic criteria applied in the field.

Credit requirements: - Participation in seminars, - Completion and submission of all assigned studio sub-tasks (seminar works) in the extent and deadlines set by the teacher.
Requirements for passing the exam:
- Previously obtained credit, - Demonstrating inventiveness and craft abilities, - Obligatory corrections, - Submitting and defending semester project - Presentation.

Content
|
Students of master's program can enroll in this course as in so-called second studio. Weeks 1 - 13 - Assignment of semester project, introduction to the course. - Progressive clarification of the topic. - Exercise - locating works in a specific area (square, suburbs, dumping ground ...). - Exercise - incorporation into the landscape. - Exercise - incorporation into the interior. - Convincing formulation of the project through continuous documentation. - Illustrative examples. - Continuous input, correcting and submitting all seminar tasks according to the instructions of the teacher. - Ongoing consultation and development of the project. - Submission of final version of the project within the time specified by the teacher.

about the techniques of spatial and sculptural creation,
on how to adjust and expose the work,
about the historical and contemporary styling canons of sculpture and its overlap into other media,
about ways of reflecting his/her own work in the discipline,
about strategies for placing an object in public space, or artistic interventions |
Skills - students are expected to possess the following skills before the course commences to finish it successfully: |
plans and implements a project of artwork with sculptural expression means,
take account of the techniques and technology used,
uses basic compositional principles,
in the variants, they design and verify the finishing of the sculptural work surfaces, or fixation of the installation,
uses basic sculptural, modeling and installation procedures in the creation,
reflects his work in historical and contemporary contexts,
reflects its work in the context of professional, technical and technological processes,
critically contemplates the placement of the work into a specific space, or the realization of artistic intervention,
with erudition, presents his work to the professional community
he is able to accept and assert in a way the evaluation and critical response |
