Course objectives:
|
This is a Ph.D. course. The methodological problems in current archaeological literature will be disscused. Students are led to use formalized methods and to corncern with the theory of science. The aim is to get deep consciousness of the ways how archaeology acquires knowledge of the past.

Knowledge - knowledge resulting from the course: |
Students analyze methodological issues of the current archaeological literature, to understand the relation of theoretical and empirical aspects and are able to apply archaeological methods. Students are oriented in the theory of science, and paradigms. They are able to present the methodological problems of their dissertation work and critically evaluate the approaches of their colleagues in the seminar. |
