Course objectives:

The subject is focused on radiological imaging procedures and provides a theoretical basis for the practical activities of radiology assistant.

Content
|
Lectures 1. History and origin of radiation. 2. Primary, secondary and extrafocal radiation. 3. Properties of X radiation and influencing its quality. 4. Projection and geometric aspects of projection techniques. 5. Instrumentation - X-ray equipment, tools. 6. Secondary screens and protective equipment. 7. Origin, creation and quality of X-ray image, factors influencing its quality. 8. Film material, film programs, film material processing and X-ray defects, archiving and communicative systems. 9. Other imaging and recording possibilities - fluoroscopy, tomography. 10. Modern imaging and recording possibilities - digital recording, memory luminescent foils, direct digital radiography. 11. Telemedicine, PACS. 12. Densitometry and sensitometry. 13. Radiation protection of patient and staff. 14. Contrast media. 15. Pharmacodynamics.
