Course objectives:
|
The subject of Radiation Treatment Planning is designed as a practical course that draws from the students´ knowledge of radiobiology, radiophysics and elementary radiotherapy. During the course, students should present work with the planning systems. They are able to create radiation plans, use all possibilities to modify radiation, and select the most suitable radiation techniques. This competence shall be one of the basic prerequisites for the practice of a radiologic specialist in radiotherapy.

Content
|
1.-3. Work with the planning system ? selection and setting of the fields, loads, and modifications of the radiation beam (wedges, blocks) 4.-5. Filling-in the radiation prescription 6.-7. Verification of the plan ? simulator, BEV, DRR, dosimetric and graphic control of setting of the irradiation device 8. Repetition.

Learning outcomes
|
Knowledge - knowledge resulting from the course: |
Graduates are able to work with planning systems, methods of calculations when creating irradiation plan with a choice of the most appropriate resources, technology and fractionation regimen. Graduates can practically define the radiation volume, set the field, limitation of benefits in increased risk of damage by assessing the required input and output information. |
