Course objectives:
|
Students informed discussion of the newest history of the Middle East and North Africa, they are finding support in critically and analytically used professional sources for their opinions or conclusions. They are able to grasp, explain or problematize knowledge about historical trends, transformation processes in Middle Eastern societies after World War II till the present time. Students are able to explain and use specific theoretical frameworks for the interpretation of current Middle Eastern social phenomena. They debate about particular learned discourse. Students analyze and critically use related sources and professional literature. They individually argue about given topics in discussion. They are able to compare usefulness or adequacy of different theoretical approaches.
