Course objectives:

The aim of the course is to unify the doctoral students' knowledge in philosophy with respect to the thematic focus of the doctoral program "History and Philosophy of Science and Technology". Students acquire knowledge of the history of philosophy and philosophy of science and technology. They are also acquainted with philosophical questions about scientific methodology.

Requirements on student

At the beginning of the semester, the guarantor of the course specifies problems and questions which will be examined orally. Students have to pass a commissional examination.

History of philosophy from antiquity to the present. Philosophy and methodology of science. Philosophical reflection of science and technology. Development of the methodology of scientific inquiry. Epistemology.
