Course objectives:
|
Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the subject is to build the orientation from the basic relevant historiography, world and domestic, to build the ability of historical thinking and the ability to orientate in different approaches to the philosophy of history and history. His goal is also to bring to the student individual personalities of historiography as subjects of philosophy of history, their work as examples of different approaches to interpretation of the past, examples of the motives of this diversity, as a way to understand the difference of historical reflections.

Knowledge - students are expected to possess the following knowledge before the course commences to finish it successfully: |
to orientate the history and philosophy of the historiography of older historical periods to the rise of the Enlightenment, to interpret the biographies and works of leading figures of the historiography of this period, to characterize the main directions and stages of the historiographical discourse of antiquity, the Middle Ages and early modern times. |
Skills - students are expected to possess the following skills before the course commences to finish it successfully: |
to use the knowledge of older historiography as arguments for discussion and reflection on the history of newer ones, to be able to think historically, to be able to apply knowledge from the history of philosophy to understand the main developmental trends of historiography. |
