The course is a PhD course of the Philosophical Faculty. Its aim is to teach students to evaluate professional and popular scientific works of Czech and foreign historians. In order to conclude the course successfully, students are required to publish a paper reviewing a new publication, e.g. an essay, monograph, anthology; that thematically corresponds with the topic of the student's dissertation. The accomplishment of the course is determined by a confirmative statement of the Politics Supervisory Board (Oborová rada) in co-ordination with an academic supervisor.
